We are a small family owned and run business based in Torquay, Victoria. Our passion is making quality furniture pieces made from solid timber.

Music has always been a part of our family. Jarrod & I met when he was in a band, we were young and connected over our shared love for music.

What started as Jarrod’s hobby of building guitars ignited a passion for working with wood. This soon transformed into building furniture for our home, family and friends.

Our eldest daughter Charlotte inherited records from her pop, which sparked a passion within our family for collecting vinyl. For her 18th birthday, we designed and built her a custom record player cabinet and vinyl storage. This sparked a passion for building joinery designed specifically for housing musical equipment.

Moving to the surf coast of Victoria to access more support and opportunities for our youngest daughter Kirsten who has complex medical needs gave us a push to reassess what brings us happiness in our life. Making the move from a hobby to a business has allowed us to live a more balanced life of family and work.

Everything we enjoy in life; spending time with friends and family, enjoying a really delicious drink, or cooking smoked meats has always been accompanied by a great soundtrack.

Music is what bonds our family and it’s our hope that our clients feel that too when they receive their custom-made Gorman piece.
